The design was done in 2010 for a population of 100,000 people in Santiago, Panama. The building has an asymetrical shape based in a composition made of rectangles and trapezoids of different sizes.
It consists in a ground floor, and 2 high levels that contain: newspaper and magazine archive, area of book consultation, audio library, video library, studyroom, group work area, braille books, books in otherlanguages, children’s corner, presentations room, exhibitionhall community, cafeteria, toilettes (per level)administrative and safety area. The location of the differentambients was based on: level of noisy, frequencyof use, relationship between areas.The project also include the landscape design.
