PORTOBELO'S BUS STOP
I designed this project during my Bachelor in Architecture and with it I won a the 2nd Place in the Urban Furniture Design Competition: “New Bus Stops to Portobelo.”
The idea of this bus stop was based in the use of low cost materials and also in the
construction human knowledge of the area, so it could be done with not so much
difficulties. The relationship between the bus stop and the area was also important.
It’s design was created exactly for that coastal city and tries to assimilate a “paper
fan” and it tries to give a fun and modern impresion to the bus stop.
For it’s construction it was planned to use: wood in the back part of the bus stop as
a “wooden grill” to improve the air circulation inside if the place; a metalic roof in
a “double butterfly shape”; and colored concrete floor and a metalic bench.
