HANDEN’S LEAVES

This lighting installation was a group project that was part of my master

program at KTH. The goal of my project was to capture the attention of the people and invite them to come closer and use the space located at the end of a hallway by using a lighting machine.  It made us feel a nice feeling in the area.

The machine was composed by two luminares, one located behind a white surface and the other one located in a box. These 2 light sources created 2 different effects: the backlight creates a "conection between 2 different areas" and the projection of color shapes creates "movement and color" in the white surface located on the wall.

The light that come from the luminaire located behind the right bottom corner of the white surface tried to reach the superior corner of this surface just by using a light gradient. The luminaire that was located in the box projected light through color filters that hung in front of the luminaire. The direction of the light of the last luminaire was located in a specific position to try to assimilate that both effects were comming from the same light source.

The final result of this lighting instalation asimilated the way how leaves fall in autumn and also give the idea of a conection between the  exterior and the interior space in a joyful way.
